Removing Barriers to Flexible Work Through Multi-Channel Platforms
Challenge
FlexiJob had a working mobile app, but growth was hitting a ceiling. The core problem was access. Requiring users to install an app before they could browse available work, understand how the platform functioned, or assess whether it was worth their time was creating too much friction at the top of the funnel. Many potential users, particularly casual browsers and first-time visitors, were dropping off before they ever experienced the product. On the employer side, the app-only setup was also poorly suited to desktop workflows, which is how many job providers prefer to operate. Alongside the access problem, the existing landing pages were not doing enough work. They failed to communicate the benefits of flexible work clearly, lacked strong calls to action, and were not built to support paid acquisition effectively. This weakened ad performance and limited lead capture. As platform activity increased, a third issue emerged around internal operations. Managing growing job postings, applications, and user activity through app-only tooling was becoming inefficient, and the team lacked the visibility and moderation controls needed to keep the platform running smoothly at scale.
Solution
Cuebites approached FlexiJob as an access and adoption problem rather than a simple redesign. The strategy was to evolve the product by removing the barriers that were limiting participation, starting with the entry experience and working through to internal operations. That meant rebuilding the landing pages to do a better job of communicating value, building a full web platform so users could engage without committing to an app install, implementing an admin system that gave the FlexiJob team proper visibility and control, and supporting growth through ongoing social media content that pointed users toward a friction-free product experience.
Implementation
The landing pages were rebuilt first, with a focus on explaining flexible work benefits in plain language, aligning calls to action with user intent, and optimising lead capture for paid ad traffic. The goal was to turn the entry experience into a genuine gateway to understanding the platform rather than just a sign-up push. The web application was built as a full mirror and extension of the mobile app, giving both job seekers and providers everything they needed from a browser. This included role-based profiles, job browsing and search, application management, reviews and feedback, secure in-platform payments and subscriptions, and live notifications. Users on desktop or mobile could now participate fully without downloading anything. The admin dashboard gave the FlexiJob team centralised control over user and role management, job and content moderation, platform analytics, and activity visibility. This allowed them to manage growing platform activity proactively rather than constantly reacting to issues. In parallel, Cuebites supported FlexiJob's social media presence with content focused on explaining flexible work opportunities, highlighting success stories, and driving traffic back to the web platform and landing pages.
Optimization
With the web platform live, FlexiJob significantly reduced its dependency on app installs as the primary entry point, which opened the product up to a much wider pool of potential users. Job discovery and the application flow improved, and activity from both job seekers and providers increased as a result. The improved landing pages strengthened ad performance and lead capture, making paid acquisition more efficient. Internally, the admin system gave the team the oversight they needed to manage a growing marketplace without losing control. The result was a platform that was easier to access, easier to understand, and better equipped to scale, with 1,050 sign-ups achieved as the product became genuinely multi-channel.
